The Morava’s breathtaking sightseeing!

Traveling in Albania? Looking for a place to hike in this time of the year but also not very cold one?

Morava mountain, located in Korca it is one of the best places to go.

It is said that hiking makes you happier and healthier. Also hiking revels the beautiful nature, the roads, the villages, but most of all reaching on top of the mountain and experiencing the wonderful sightseeing.

Even thought we know the benefits of hiking, Matias and I are more into traveling with vehicle.

From the bottom of the mountain we loved the view. We had to pass to a small village of Korca on our way to the mountain, surrounded by small houses, typical Albanian village style. We could see all the way up the shepherds working, and the cattle all around the place..

Driving to our destination we saw a wonderful sightseeing. Even though it was very cold there was no snow but just frost, in every corner of the road and of couse we had to be careful.

Some people camping

What impressed us was a grown man that cycled to the top of the mountain and he did not look tired, but he looked happy and he was enjoying the road. Despite hiking you can also cycle there.

As soon as we arrived, we had to walk a little bit to the church  on top of the mountain. There was an antique church, a very attractive one.  It was small but very important for the people of Korca. The church of Saint Ilia. Next to the church it is a big cross, which can be seen even from a very far point of view.

But the most beautiful thing was the breathtaking sightseeing. From that point we could see how earth touches the sky, how beautifully they combined together, and the fresh air was wonderful.

It was a little foggy, but the best view I had ever seen!

Reveling our beautiful Albanian nature will continue in the other editions.

Until next time…

Lots of love

Rea & Matias.
