Fashion mistakes that ruin our confidence

Hello my beautiful ones! Today we’re going to talk about some fashion issues that we all have. We should all know that fashion is supposed to bring us confidence and the way we dress should help us express ourselves! But there are definitely things we should and shouldn’t do that influence our level of confidence.

I’m guilty of all this mistakes when I look back at the way I dressed before and now I want to help you out too!!

Trying on clothes that you used to wear

Wearing clothes that are not our size.

First of all is so important to know your size and be realistic and except your body type. Too small or too big, both are bad. We should know that clothes are not supposed to fit everyone because the fitting models they use do not represent all body sizes and types so find a good cheap tailor and make sure stuff fits. You will feel absolutely gorgeous in clothes that fit perfectly to your body.

Leaving the house in a piece of clothing that we don’t love.

The number one fashion mistake that we all do , especially in the winter cold days is to wear outfits we don’t love or just that hat or scarf or piece of jewelry we don’t like. If you are not 100% sure about it just change it. If you don’t feel like it’s enhancing you in some kind of way don’t wear it. You’re gonna feel insecure the rest of the day and you will reflect that. Don’t get me wrong! This pieces of clothing may be very beautiful but maybe just don’t suit your style. And this brings me to the next fashion mistake :

Not knowing our style

You should let yourself take time in defining your style. You don’t pick your style over night and decide it in your head that I want to carry this style or that person’s style. There are a lot of styles out there and you don’t have to pick one. Maybe your style is going to be a mix of 3 different mainstream ones. Whatever makes you happy as long as you look very confident in it and own it.

When we only invest on statement pieces.

It’s fun every now and then to buy super statement pieces with a bunch of rhinestones or beadings or with crazy colors that stand out. I did this before cause I wanted to buy unique single pieces that stand out but I was left wearing them only 2 or 3 times. So don’t invest only on those things but focus more on simple everyday clothes that are easy to combine and create different outfits because most days, you just want to wear something simple and yet feel confident. Invest on those high quality basics in your closet so in normal days you always feel like you have things to wear. Who am I kidding, we girls always have nothing to wear.

Buying things that are trendy but not our style.

Now that we figured out our style we know that there will be trends we won’t follow and that’s okay. Don’t spend money on trendy things you like when you see on a mannequin, on instagram or on someone else and end up never wearing them because you don’t feel comfortable and don’t suit your style. Trends are cool and fun sometimes and they come and go but it doesn’t mean you are not well dressed if you are not trendy.

Not highlighting our favorite asset.

We all have something on our body that is absolutely our favorite. It may be our boobs or butt, our collarbone, our legs, our abs. Find it and dress to highlight it. You will definitely feel super confident!

People don’t care as much as we think they do.

Believe me, you could wear anything that you like. As long as you look and feel confident and own it, everyone will think you know what you’re doing. So don’t stress it too much. When I say they don’t care I’m not saying they don’t judge. People are always going to stare so make them worth they’re while.
