Crush of the Week – A raven made of ink!

My body is a journal in a way. It’s like what sailors used to do, where every tattoo meant something, a specific time in your life when you make a mark on youself, whether you do It yourself with a knife or with a professional tattoo artist.

-Johnny Depp-

It is officially our traditional Sunday, our Crush of the week:

Rigers Hamza

Rigers is a well known tattoo artist and a good friend of mine. He is a professional ink  master that has recently opened a new studio in Tirana, where despite tattooing you can also get  pierced there from a professional girl piercer.

His studio it is also like his home, because he spends most of his time there working and drawing. He is the founder and owner of “ The Sinners House” .

Recently he was in London and has traveled just to win a lot more experience than he already has.

When we ask for his style he defines it Strange, Surrealist,Dark & Gothic.

To get to know him better here is his 10 questions interview about his passion and profession :

When did you realize that you wanted to be a tattoo artist?

Hm I have always liked tattoos, but  when I was in high school I guess.

How were you practicing? Were you tattooing on yourself?

Yep..In the beginning, I did it on my self, a couple of times, in my legs

What was your first tattoo?

It was a star,a terrible star, but it was okay for the first time on a human body

For how long have you been a tattoo artist?

For almost 4 years till now

Are you at a point in your career where you’re mentoring other artists?

Hm okay. Actually ,my work speaks by itself, but personally I don’t want to do that at the moment

Can you talk a little bit about your journey to your current style?

Actually,I don’t want to talk a lot about this in fact, because I was in this before I was a tattoo artist.I got a strong relationship with this style, and except that, its not just a style,it is a way of life.

Mistery, dark, surrealistic and strange, it is a thing that everybody is interested in,I guess

In general.

What inspires you?

Little things, mistery, and the life itself it’s a misery, so this one it’s more important.

I know that you are a big fan of Johnny Depp and also I know that you have some tattoos of his movie characters. What characters are they?

Yeah actually more I am a fan of the director, that’s why I have got the tattoos. Yep,my left leg it’s like a sleeve, with some characters, it’s Edward Scissor-hands(twice) , Mad hatter, Lone ranger, and Jack Sparrow, but also the leg is in process, its not finished yet.

I would love to see your masterpiece when its finished. How long does it take to do a big tattoo?

Yes of course.

Hm except what size is, and what the tattoo is, also it depends from the client, because he needs breaks, but usually it starts from 3 hours, till more.

What’s your actual tattooing process like?

  • Hm hygiene It’s first, everything must be cleaned and hygienic, every thing is steril, one use and sterilized. Also there are some creams which help during the process.

Me & Matias trusted him our skin and we got tattoos just like we wanted, and even better and still wanting for more. So if you are looking for someone to trust your skin too, choose him and you won’t be disappointed.
